Bonus: Commitment to Diversity

At Sacred Hearts Academy, diversity and the opportunity to learn about other cultures are what make us a thriving, connected community. With events such as International Day, clubs involving engagement from all different backgrounds, and classes to gain a better understanding of the cultures around us, Ka Leo has the opportunity to be another voice for cultures to connect and learn. As Editor-In-Chief, I pitch and edit content to ensure our coverage reflects the range of students at the Academy. When Ka Leo staff come up with ideas for an article, I ask them, “Do you feel anyone's voice is missing in this article?”, as I feel it is important for every story to consider multiple perspectives.

Below are articles Ka Leo has put out to represent the strong diversity in our community, and for most of these articles, I either edited, assisted, or wrote them with their focus to amplify everyone in our community.
